In RPRY’s library class the first through fourth graders heard a wonderful story, “The Magical Yet” by Angela DiTerlizzi. This book introduced the students to the concept of the magical yet which is always by our side, encouraging us to not give up on something we are not confident or accomplished in yet—like bike riding, playing a musical instrument or even learning how to walk. The students had great examples from their own lives about skills that they have not mastered yet that they want to continue to work on. They understood that they should not give up on something just because it is challenging but rather should keep on trying with the help of the magical yet.
