What better way to foster a sense of community and love for one another (achdut) than a group chesed project? One day at recess, a group of the fourth grade girls at Ben Porat Yosef came up with the idea of a bake sale as a way of doing chesed. They decided they would donate their proceeds to Magen David Adom, the Israeli ambulance service. Soon enough all the girls in the grade got involved, planning what they were going to bake and creating a menu. The girls worked together beautifully sharing ideas.
This Sunday, November 8 at 11 a.m., the fourth grade girls from Ben Porat Yosef will be selling their scrumptious desserts to raise money to support an incredible organization, Magen David Adom. The bake sale will be held at 435 Churchill Rd in Teaneck.
