The Naaleh Eagles JV volleyball team made the school’s first-ever A league championship after their second place finish in the regular season with a record of 5-3! The Eagles went on to beat Flatbush in the quarter-finals and HAFTR in the semis, culminating at the championships this past Sunday versus SAR. When reflecting on the past one or two seasons with the team, the players said that they were proud of the team for growing from barely knowing how to play the sport to developing their volleyball skills and training and becoming a competitive team who qualified for the championships. Though the Eagles ultimately lost the champs, with a close score of 21-18 for both matches, it was a well-played and point-by-point tight game with the Eagles maintaining the lead in both matches until the very end. Their coach is most proud of each player’s individual improvement and the time, investment and supportive nature that every player has given to the team as a whole. The Eagles are excited to see what next season has in store!
