There is something truly special about the exchange program that exists between MTA and Yeshivat Makor Chaim. The MTA talmidim that participate in the exchange and get to spend time living and learning in Eretz Yisrael are invariably inspired by their experiences and they bring back that excitement with them when they return. However, for the remainder of the MTA talmidim, the opportunity to host the talmidim of Makor Chaim has become one of the most meaningful and enjoyable experiences of the MTA year. The MC4 brought infectious energy with them to MTA that permeates the entire building. From the talmidim through the faculty and administration, everyone in the building is impacted by the presence of the MC4. Through weekly programming, as well as impromptu kumzitzes and dancing, the atmosphere of MTA was one of excitement and simcha, especially on Rosh Chodesh Adar when the MC4 led a beautiful Hallel and continued to bring the simcha with a post-Shacharis dance. After an amazing few weeks, it was time for the MC4 to head back to Eretz Yisrael, with great fanfare and emotion the MTA talmidim bid their new friends goodbye. And the countdown began for next year’s exchange.
