It has become an annual end-of-year tradition that TABC students from Rabbi Jachter’s shiur walk to Teaneck Road and get an insider’s look at the Teaneck/Englewood eruv. Rabbi Jachter, who along with three other local rabbis, supervises the Teaneck eruv (and advises sixty other communities throughout North America with regard to their eruvin) taught the TABC students the nuts and bolts of eruv construction and maintenance. Concepts such as tzurat hapetach and tachuv came alive as TABC has the good fortune of being only a five minute walk from one of the eruv borders. TABC students also had the good fortune of enjoying the kosher Dunkin’ Donuts store located at the end of the eruv journey, so they returned back to regular learning cool and refreshed.
