Each year, the Westchester Day School fifth graders eagerly embark on the beloved tradition of seining on the Long Island Sound, a hands-on exploration of marine life that shapes their curriculum for the year. Armed with nets, buckets, and a passion for discovery, students wade into the waters, uncovering crabs, seashells and other fascinating marine creatures beneath the surface. From laughter to gasps of excitement, this unforgettable experience introduces students to the incredible biodiversity of the Sound and marks a significant milestone in their Westchester Day School journey.
