Highlighting: “More Food You Love That Loves You Back” by Rorie Weisberg and Sara Goldstein. Artscroll Mesorah Publications, 2024. Hardcover. 352 pages. ISBN-13: 978-1422642115.
“More Food You Love” is a co-authored sequel to the popular cookbook “Food You Love,” currently hitting the shelves wherever Artscroll books are sold. In this sequel, Rorie Weisberg, INHC, has teamed up with Sara Goldstein, chef and food photographer, to bring you more doable and delicious recipes.
How does this cookbook stand out from your first one?
Weisberg: First of all, it’s bolder and more elevated. In the first book, we had so many foundational staples and basics to help people find their footing in a new way of cooking. For this one, we got way more creative. Of course, there are still plenty of staples, and even the more “different” or gourmet-style foods are super clear and easy, but there are also incredible showstopper recipes in every section. It was also really important to us that everyone could access recipes in this book. All the recipes are 100% gluten free. We made sure to include many clearly marked nut-free and egg-free recipes. And there’s even a whole vegan section with fabulous vegan meals.
Who do you think would benefit most from this cookbook?
Goldstein: Cookbook junkies, of course! But really, anyone who wants easy, wholesome, elevated recipes to add to their repertoire, so they can enjoy the foods they love with ingredients that love them back. There’s something here for everyone.
What was it like for the two of you to work on such a huge project together?
Goldstein: When Rorie reached out, I was so excited because it felt like a chance to combine our strengths in a way that would create something really unique. You’d assume writing a cookbook is a huge pressure and strain, but working together made it manageable and even fun! The collaboration was natural — we each had areas we were comfortable with. Aside from our joint recipe development, Rorie handled the educational content and editing with such experience, and I focused on staging and photography.
What’s the most rewarding part of creating a cookbook like this?
Weisberg: Seeing the impact on people’s lives. When someone tells me they’ve started incorporating my recipes into their life and felt the difference, it makes the entire labor of love worthwhile. Knowing that the book can help someone live their life feeling fuller, more focused, more energized, more vibrant — that’s the most rewarding part.
