What has four wheels, weighs five ounces, and tears up the track in a blur of rainbow colors at speeds up to 200 miles per hour? The Pinewood Derby racers of course! Cub Scout pack 613 held its annual Pinewood Derby race last Sunday, and it was a breakneck thrill-ride blast from start to the finish line. Each scout raced a car that he himself designed to his own unique and colorful specifications. And what a job they did with the cars flashing down the track in a dizzying variety of shapes and hues. Using a high-tech track complete with electronic speed measurements that captured the cars blazing race time down to a fraction of a second, the boys were delighted to see their creative creations impress the crowd. Congratulations to all the scouts for their ingenuity and sportsmanship in making this derby such a smashing success.
