The Idea School Welcomes The Audubon Society

In preparation for their second exhibition of student learning, The Idea School freshmen are working on a Clean Water Project. Students heard from Don Torino, president of the Bergen County Audubon Society, who discussed the history of the bald eagle and the effect pollution had on our majestic national bird. Next he explored the impact of the Clean Water Act on the unprecedented growth of the eagle population. The students were inspired by his call to action when he told them that citizen scientists, many of whom were students, played a large role in saving the eagle.
