This past week, The Idea School students together with the JCC seniors program, were able to resume the Better Together senior-teen philanthropy program online. Over the course of the school year, students have been working with seniors at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades to decide on an organization they’d like to donate money to. Before going online, the group had heard from a number of organizations about the work they did. These organizations included Knock, Knock Give a Sock, Eva’s Village, the American Cancer Society and Jewish Family Services. Now the seniors and teens will make their final decision. The coronavirus crisis has given them the chance to rethink their giving priorities and discuss whether they want to give to those who are in immediate need. Both seniors and students were grateful to see each other again and continue the partnership they created to do great work for the world.
