ASHAR Students Begin Dissection Unit in Biology

Last week, the ASHAR seventh graders began their dissection unit in biology. They started with an earthworm dissection lab, and they will dissect frogs after Pesach. Dissection allows students to see the inside of real organisms. Students learn about organs and organ systems. By dissecting both simple creatures and more complex ones, the students will be able to compare different animals and their adaptations. As with all hands-on laboratory activities, students learn to pay attention to details and follow scientific procedures. The students are looking forward to dissecting frogs in a few weeks.
