Cheder Yaldei Menachem really lives with the weekly parsha! Instead of learning about Hashem’s six days of creation, they experienced it. Each classroom was set up to engage children in activities relating to one of the creation days. Classes went from one room to the next probing and exploring all that was set up for them. At each stop along the way, children added a coordinating sticker on their Bereishit necklace designing a complete beautiful world. Day one of creation was experimenting with light and dark using flashlights and viewing shadows. On to playing with water and clouds for day two. Day three had yeladim planting lima beans to observe their growth. CYM explored the solar system using telescopes in the planetarium for day four. They wrapped up by finding fish in sensory bags, stamping footprints and adding people to complete their world. What a wonderful way to discover the beautiful world Hashem designed!
