Bergen County CHADD Expert Speaker Series Presents ‘Declarative Language for Kids With Social Learning Differences’

Bergen County CHADD (Children and Families with ADHD) Expert Speaker Series

will present “Declarative Language for Kids with Social Learning Differences” on Monday, April 7, from 8-9:15 p.m. on Zoom. The program will be led by Linda K. Murphy, a speech language pathologist and RDI® consultant.

Declarative language is a thoughtful language style to help kids with social learning differences feel competent, connected and understood. In this introduction to declarative language, participants will learn what it is, why it is so powerful in supporting social learning, and hear examples of how to facilitate these conversations.

Murphy co-founded Peer Projects Therapy From the Heart, a clinic in Beverly, Massachusetts dedicated to helping kids and families by using a positive, thoughtful communication style that emphasizes understanding, patience, respect and kindness. Murphy has been working with individuals with social learning differences for over 30 years.

Murphy’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. The meeting is open to all who seek support and information, including parents, clinicians and teachers. A virtual handout will be available to all attendees.
