Bergen County CHADD will present a virtual program, “Structuring Summer Vacations,” with Dr. Stephani Synn from 8 to 9:15 p.m. on Monday, May 5, via Zoom.
The program will explore the unique challenges faced by families with neurodiverse children during the summer months, when the absence of a regular school routine can create added stress. Dr. Synn will discuss specific strategies families can implement at home to better support their children and themselves.
Synn is the director of Camp Baker and assistant director of the Center for Effective Therapy Boston. She also conducts neuropsychological assessments for adults, children and adolescents.
She has significant clinical experience treating mental health challenges in a variety of settings, including pediatric hospitals, residential treatment programs, community mental health centers, group homes, intensive outpatient programs and schools. Synn has specialized training in evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, summer treatment program, multifamily group treatment, acceptance and commitment therapy, the modular approach to treatment for children with anxiety, depression, trauma, or conduct problems, and parent-child interaction therapy.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. The meeting is open to parents, clinicians, teachers and all those seeking support and information.
