Ahavath Torah to Host Chanukah Lunch & Learn

On Tuesday, December 8, at noon, Congregation Ahavath Torah will host a Lunch & Learn entitled “The Secrets of Chanukah,” presented by Rabbi Shmuel Goldin. The program will be followed by a musical presentation by the Moriah School Choir. Cost is $15 per person and reservations are required.

J-ADD to Host Chanukah Party

J-ADD will be hosting its annual Chanukah party on Wednesday, December 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the JCC of Paramus. Please join them for food, fun activities and dancing. Suggested donation is $18 per person. RSVP to [email protected]. The JCC of Paramus is located at 304 E. Midland Avenue in Paramus.

J-ADD to Host Inclusion Shabbat

J-ADD’s Parent Resource Center will be hosting an Inclusion Shabbat on December 25-26 in Passaic, featuring Scholar-in-Residence Judge Dan Butler. The weekend will kick off on Friday morning at Congregation Tiferet Israel, with a breakfast and speech open to the entire community.

Friday night davening, also at Tiferet Israel, will feature a dvar Torah by Judge Butler, followed by a communal dinner for families with special needs children at 5:30 p.m. and a community oneg at 7:30 p.m.

The Shabbat daytime program will be held at the Young Israel of Passaic/Clifton, beginning with an inclusive davening and drasha by Judge Butler. Inclusive groups for children will be available during davening. A communal lunch for families with special needs children will be held at 12:15 p.m., and special programming will follow lunch, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The cost is $25 per meal for adults and $20 per meal for children 3-16. The first 20 families to register will receive a 20 percent discount.

Bob McGrath to Visit Teaneck General Store

On December 6 at 11 a.m., visit the Teaneck General Store for a Chanukah bash and meet Bob McGrath of Sesame Street. McGrath has entertained children for years and will sing and sign autographs at this event. There will also be raffles and free giveaways.

Teaneck General Store is located at 502 Cedar Lane.
