(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Over 300 people came to celebrate Lag B’Omer at the Bris Avrohom Center in Hillside in honor of the great sage, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. The event was a beautiful display of unity between the Hillside, Elizabeth and neighboring communities. A large bonfire was lit, a longstanding tradition of Lag B’Omer.

Rabbi Avremy and Chaya Kanelsky organized the exciting event. The children enjoyed a petting zoo, pony rides, archery, roasting marshmallows and other outdoor activities. The participants all enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy and a barbecue dinner. The event concluded with the children reciting the 12 pesukim and jovial dancing around the bonfire.
