Bris Avrohom in Hillside Celebrates Chai Elul

(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Bris Avrohom celebrated Chai Elul, the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, with numerous events. On Thursday evening a farbrengen was held at the Bris Avrohom Center at which Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky made a siyum on Masechet Eruvin in memory of Barbara Felzenberg, z”l. Her husband, Binyomin, recited Kaddish at the conclusion of the siyum. Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky then shared stories of the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe with the crowd. A full dinner was served, sponsored by the Felzenberg family.

On Friday morning, Cheder Yaldei Menachem celebrated Chai Elul by inviting Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky to speak to the primer and first grade students to share stories with them about the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe. The children got special treats and made a l’chaim.

A grand kiddush was prepared on Shabbos sponsored by Rabbi Yudi and Chani Kanelsky in honor of the birth of their daughter, Chaya Esther. A full Shabbos meal followed and Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky led a farbrengen with those who joined.

Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky led a father and son farbrengen on Sunday evening, wrapping up the celebrations for Chai Elul.
