Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Standing on line at Dunkin Donuts the same familiar faces stand behind the counter waiting to serve the customers each day. One would think that the workers would be stressed over the indecision of some customers once they have reached their turn to order, the screaming children who decide that they need chocolate sprinkles once they have declared vanilla as their favorite, and those who have a hard time finding their coupons which they are so sure they have in their pockets or purses. Nevertheless they calmly stand there waiting and working together to make everyone’s visit to the store as efficient and friendly as possible.

While standing on line one man declared that he came only to this Dunkin Donuts because of the friendliness of the staff.

They make it their business to get to know their customers and often can pre arrange an order knowing that there are certain regulars who everyday order the same thing.

We thought that in order to make your shopping experience at this Teaneck landmark more exciting it would be to your benefit to know more about some of the employees there.

Most familiar to most is probably Raj who arrived in this country from Bangladesh when he was one year old. He is now twenty four and spending quiet time trying to decide what his next step in life should be. Raj has worked in the store for five years.

Ana is the lady with a smile who is usually running around trying to ensure that the egg and cheese on croissant is done in speed lightning time. Ana arrived from El Salvador twenty years ago and has three children. She has been working in the store for four years.

Rudy has a warm kind smile and arrived here nine years ago from Guatemala. He and his wife have two children. He has been working in the store for seven years.

Emilse has a quiet sweet way and often is in a managerial position. She arrived from Argentina fourteen years ago and she and her husband raise their three children. She has worked at the store for eight years.

What is most amazing about this group is that they and their fellow workers have formed into each other’s extended family. Obviously Agnes (the store’s owner) had a great sense of who to hire. Everyone of the employees, who I consider my friends, love working with the customers of this store. It can be demonstrated through their friendliness and concern for others. Next time you visit the store mention this article and you might receive an extra dollop of whipped cream in your hot chocolate!
