CDG alumni from across the decades gear up for the biggest reunion in camp history.
(Courtesy of Camp Dora Golding) Camp Dora Golding is turning 100, and the excitement is already in full swing.
For generations of campers, CDG has been more than just a summer camp. It’s a second home, a brotherhood and a launchpad for life. Likewise, this centennial year is more than just a number. It’s a celebration of a legacy built on bunk beds, grand singalongs, spirited leagues and Shabbosim that uplift the soul.
The countdown is on for the official CDG100 celebration, taking place Sunday, August 10th. Alumni from all eras are clearing their calendars, booking flights and digging up old photos. One scroll through social media tells the story: CDG memories are flooding timelines, rekindling friendships and building momentum for what’s being called “the celebration of the century.”
From its legendary beginnings as Camp Deal in New Jersey to its iconic presence today in East Stroudsburg, Camp Dora Golding has left its mark on thousands of campers across generations. Just ask CDG alumni like Yaakov Shwekey, Mordechai Shapiro, Nachas or Rabbi Yitzy Erps, all of whom once sang, danced or inspired under the same camp sky.
And it’s not just the alumni feeling the energy. Current campers are already repping the moment in brand-new CDG100 varsity jackets, hoodies and more. Even before the summer begins, the campgrounds are buzzing with a sense of history in the making.
Look out for the CDG100 car magnets, now proudly displayed on the backs of hundreds of vehicles across the country, plus some even spotted in Eretz Yisrael.
What’s planned for August 10th? Let’s just say: picture the ultimate reunion meets crazy entertainment, meets memory lane, with some surprises still tightly under wraps.
“This year feels electric,” said one longtime staff member. “You can feel the CDG ruach building already, and we haven’t even lit the first bonfire.”
There’s a century of stories behind us. And a celebration like nothing before ahead.
