It is customary that the week after Pesach, Jews bake their traditional challah with a twist, they add a key. This challah is known as shlissel challah (the key challah) and serves as a reminder that Hashem holds the keys to our livelihood. Although we must diligently do our part, we ask God to unlock His treasure box and bless us with all the sustenance we need with a gracious hand. This integral, life-lesson was experienced at Cheder Yaldei Menachem this week. Children made their own challah dough, and pushed in a key while shaping it. Some children even shaped their challah like a key! What a meaningful experience with a lifelong lesson!
