Coping With Loss and Grief During Quarantine

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ) will present a program called “Coping With Loss and Grief During Quarantine,” Monday, May 18, at 8:00 p.m., via Zoom. The presentation will be led by JFSCNJ social workers Lauren Laudati, LSW, CRC, and Greg Yucht, LSW. The program is free and open to the entire community.

According to Laudati, “The program will discuss some psychoeducation on what the typical stages of grief may look like and how it may look different during a quarantine.” Yucht added, “We will also discuss resources and coping strategies that people could find helpful.”

Laudati is trained in psychological first aide and suicide bereavement, and is currently working towards certification in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. A graduate of SUNY Buffalo and Ramapo College of New Jersey, her work has often involved trauma, including individual and community responses to traumatic events.

Yucht, is a licensed Russian-speaking social worker who holds a master’s of social work degree from Columbia University, and a master’s degree in Jewish history from the Jewish Theological Seminary. At JFSCNJ, he provides counseling and case management, and leads programing for Holocaust survivors from the former Soviet Union.

The program is generously funded by grants from the JFNA Center for Advanced Holocaust Care, the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, Northfield Bank, The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and the Wilf Family Foundation.
