Petak’s Five-Star Kosher Catering Donates 120 Dinners to JFNNJ Partner J-ADD

Jewish Association for Developmental Disabilities (J-ADD) receives a festive Shabbat dinner.

(Courtesy of JFNNJ) Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey facilitated a generous donation of food from Petak’s Kosher Catering. Festive meals left over from a wedding went to good use and provided a beautiful Shabbat dinner for residents at J-ADD homes. Petak’s delivered and unpacked meals in boxes so all the residents could have a special treat.

“We are thrilled that our delicious kosher food went to good use with help from our friends at Jewish Federation,” said Gary Rubin, from Petak’s Five Star Kosher Catering. “When we all work together, we can really help our community during these difficult times.”

“When I opened the box and looked inside, wow, it was just the kind of food I like,” said long-time J-ADD resident, J.M. J-ADD has been helping the community with developmental disabilities and their families in New Jersey for over 30 years.

Through Federation’s Volunteer Center, organizations that are serving the needs of our community are being connected to ensure resources are being maximized and the needs of the Jewish community and the broader community are being met. “Petak’s Kosher Catering has long been a leader in its industry and its generosity is greatly appreciated,” said Jason M. Shames, CEO, Jewish Federation. “I know our partners at J-ADD and especially their residents were overjoyed with this donation that came at a critical time when resources are being stretched so thin.” This is just one of many of Federation’s proud moments.
