MTA announced that Rabbi Ezra Wiener (YUHSB ’89, YC ’93) will join its stellar team of rebbeim for the 2021-2022 school year as rosh beit midrash and maggid shiur. “Our commitment to provide the best possible experience for our talmidim drives every decision we make,” said Head of School Rabbi Joshua Kahn. “Shiur is the core of this experience, where talmidim develop lifelong relationships with their rebbeim and become motivated to push themselves to learn beyond the classroom. We are excited to welcome Rabbi Wiener, who will enhance these opportunities for our talmidim.” Rabbi Wiener joins MTA after 21 years of serving as rebbe, mashgiach ruchani, director of Israel guidance and most recently as Judaic studies principal at Torah Academy of Bergen County. He also serves as assistant rabbi of Congregation Rinat Yisrael in Teaneck. During this time, Rabbi Wiener has inspired thousands of talmidim and remained connected with his talmidim well past their high school graduations. Next year, at MTA, Rabbi Wiener will focus on teaching all morning as a maggid shiur, while also advancing the yeshiva’s additional learning programs. Rabbi Wiener will be an active presence at Night Seder, give community-wide shiurim in MTA communities and lead an afternoon learning seder that will be available to seniors as an elective, as well as other talmidim who have an afternoon free period and want to advance their learning.
“It is with great excitement that I anticipate the opportunity to join the experienced and accomplished talmidei chachamim that comprise the MTA rebbeim, many of whom I know personally,” shared Rabbi Wiener. “I enthusiastically await the opportunity to reciprocate, as MTA had such a profound impact on me as a student and engendered within me not only a love of Torah, but additionally, due to its rigorous schedule of Torah learning, a strong foundation in the study of Torah Shebe’al Peh for which I am eternally grateful.”
