Rabbi Adam Mintz, Rabbi Naftali Wolfe To Join Bi-Cultural’s Adult Ed Program

Rabbi Adam Mintz, the spiritual leader of Kehilat Rayim Ahuvim in New York City, will be presenting two interesting Jewish history lectures via Zoom on the cultural and Halachic responses to crisis and tragedy. The program is being sponsored by the Center for Community Education (CCE) at the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut in Stamford.

The first lecture will be on Wednesday, February 24, at 8 p.m. on the Black Death. Rabbi Mintz will deliver his second lecture on March 3 on the Spanish Expulsion.

“We are delighted to be able to host Rabbi Mintz, a noted Jewish history scholar, for two interesting sessions,” said Michael Feldstein, co-chair of the CCE. “Rabbi Mintz makes history come alive with his unique style and informative content.”

Rabbi Mintz is the rabbi of Kehilat Rayim Ahuvim, a Modern Orthodox community he founded on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He is also the director of 929 English, a web-based project that promotes the daily study of a chapter of Tanach. In addition, Rabbi Mintz is a member of the Talmud faculty at Yeshivat Maharat and has taught as an adjunct assistant professor at City College for the past six years.

Rabbi Mintz completed his rabbinical ordination at Yeshiva University and received his doctorate at New York University. He also served as a rabbi in a number of Modern Orthodox synagogues in the New York area, including Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun and Lincoln Square Synagogue.

The CCE is also sponsoring a pre-Purim shiur that will be given by Rabbi Naftali Wolfe, an instructor of advanced Talmud at Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy’s Upper School, on Tuesday, February 23 at 8 p,m.
