Renee Klyman Joins Ben Porat Yosef as Director of Recruitment and Admissions

(Courtesy of BPY) Ben Porat Yosef (BPY), a leading yeshiva day school located in Bergen County, has appointed veteran Jewish day school advocate Renee Klyman as its new director of recruitment and admissions. She will assume her new role at the beginning of the academic year in September 2021, reporting to BPY’s Head of School Rabbi Saul Zucker.

Klyman has spent the last several years heading the grassroots engagement division of the Orthodox Union’s Teach NJ, the political advocacy group dedicated to supporting the state’s Jewish day school and other nonpublic school students. In that role, she helped engage students and parents in advocating for equitable government funding for New Jersey nonpublic schools. Prior to that role, Klyman served as the office administrator at Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School in Teaneck.

“From my years of working in Jewish education, I see that the Ben Porat Yosef educational experience and the community it creates are unique and special among the choices our families have for their children. Rabbi Zucker and the board have made BPY such a special place for the religious Tziyoni community, and I look forward to working with parents and students to facilitate their coming to our school,” said Klyman.

Her appointment comes as part of a larger move to strengthen the administrative team at BPY. Last month, the school announced the hiring of new middle school associate principal, Sarah Bartges.

“Because of her work with Teach NJ, Klyman has a broad overview of the education options available to families in our area, and a clear vision on why BPY is unique. She brings a wealth of energy and excitement to her new position, and we are thrilled that she will be able to bring both her skills and her experience in engaging with our community to BPY as we work to grow our school family,” said Rabbi Zucker.

Klyman earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University. She resides in Englewood with her family.
