In a close game throughout, Confie Seguros defeated Triumph Hotels 29-22. The first half saw both teams come out scoring, with Confie taking an 18-12 lead at the break. Aliza Rothberg scored 6 of her 7 points in the first half leading the way for Confie, who had six different scorers in the half. Avigayil Kahn scored 4 and Eliana Bane, Hannah Friedman, Emma Kleinhaus and Adina Pearlman each added 2 for a balanced effort.

Triumph’s first half was led by Evie Gutlove, who scored 6 of her 8 points in the first half, Sophie Lerer with 4 (team and game high 10 points) and Abigail Lerer with 2. The third and fourth periods were very defensive, players on both teams hustled after every loose ball and rebound. Confie’s lead was trimmed to 4 entering the last period with key baskets from Kayla Stelzer and Alexa Lefel. In the 5^th, Triumph battled back to tie the game on a basket from Sophie Lerer and clutch foul shots from Evie Gutlove. Then Confie took over scoring the game’s final seven points. Eliana Bane scored the basket that gave Confie the lead for good, Gabriella Bak added two free throws, Aliza Rothberg 1 and game MVP Avigayil Kahn added the final two (team and game high 10 points) to secure the championship. The coaches, sponsors and families are all to thank, and of course, the girls for a great season and a great game.
