Congregation Beth Aaron’s 3rd Annual Project THANKS Shows Gratitude to Teaneck’s Firefighters

Congregation Beth Aaron ran its third annual Project THANKS on Thanksgiving Day. This program expresses thanks to the town’s brave firefighters and provides a Thanksgiving dinner “with all the trimmings” to the firemen on duty Thanksgiving Day.

A short presentation by Dr. Alden Leifer, chairman of the effort, was made to the men on duty at the main fire station. The firefighters then proceeded to give a wonderful tour of the station house to the group of congregants gathered for the event. This included a demonstration of the 100 pounds of gear each firefighter must wear when suited up for a call and an overview of the various trucks used by the men. It concluded with a demonstration of the use of the famous fire pole that allows for faster descent from the upper level of the station.

Many of the member families of the congregation donated to this endeavor to convey their appreciation to the firemen for their bravery, courage and valor in serving the community. The meal, prepared by Ma’adan of Teaneck, included a classic Thanksgiving dinner menu.
