(Courtesy of CBY) CBY’s Yitzchak Yaakov Kollel Boker celebrated the conclusion of another successful zman with a melava malka and siyum on Mesechet Gittin this past Motzei Shabbat.

Despite it being one of the latest Shabbatot of the year, Kollel participants came out to the home of Dr. Azriel and Ilana Rauzman to enjoy a seudah and words of chizuk from Rabbi Zvi Sobolofsky. Rabbi Sobolofsky leads the kollel throughout the year, meeting Mondays through Fridays from 6:20-7 a.m. at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun.

This past year the Kollel spent three days a week learning different topics in Masechet Brachot and two days a week completing the study of Masechet Gittin, which was started in September 2022.

“Every once in a while it occurs to me just how fortunate we are to spend time early each morning immersed in deep Torah topics,” noted Rabbi Sobolofsky. And while participants of the Kollel recognize the incredible opportunity to learn daily with one of the leading Torah figures of our day, Rabbi Sobolofsky deflected and indicated that it was he who “drew chizuk from the Kollel participants.”
