The Israeli paralympic delegation, in partnership with EL AL and the Israel Paralympic Committee, is ready for the upcoming games in Paris this August.
(Courtesy of El Al) EL AL, the official carrier of the Israeli Paralympic delegation to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, hosted the ceremony to debut the delegation’s new uniform for the upcoming games this morning. Israeli paralympic delegation athletes, EL AL CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, and Israel Paralympic Committee chairman Moshe Matalon attended the ceremony, which took place at Ben Gurion airport in front of an EL AL aircraft decorated for the games.
Anat Meshulam and Dor Chen, Shenkar College of Design graduates and owners of the Holyland Civilians brand, designed the new official uniforms. The design emphasizes the colors of the Israeli flag and Israel’s national symbols – the star of David and olive branches. Athletes can choose from among various items – a jacket, T-shirts, shorts, trousers, socks and a matching cap – to suit their comfort and personal preferences.
Several of the delegation’s athletes attended the ceremony, including: taekwondo fighter and world champion Asaf Yasur, participating in the Paralympic Games for the first time; para-badminton player Nina Gorodetzky, who competed in the Tokyo Paralympic Games; goalball player Roni Ohayon, competing in her third Paralympic Games competition; and single-scull rower Shmulik Daniel, who finished sixth in Tokyo and will be participating in the Paralympic Games for the second time.
EL AL CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia said, “Sports is an international language that constantly confronts us with professional and mental challenges. As a manager, I draw inspiration and coping tools from the realm of sports, like teamwork, focus, healthy competition and collaboration for the achievement of a common goal, which I implement professionally. Without the motivation to succeed, sometimes against all odds, it would not have been possible to accomplish incredible achievements such as yours, attesting to your outstanding level of professionalism. I am convinced you will continue to represent us with honor in the upcoming games. Each and every one of you is a role model of power, perseverance and sportsmanship. EL AL is proud to fly the delegation to Paris, and we are excited and looking forward to seeing you on the court, honoring Israel, especially in these difficult times.”
Israel Paralympic Committee chairman, Moshe Matalon, thanked EL AL and added, “For many years you have been accompanying us, providing us with personal and dedicated service, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your ongoing support. To me, the connection between us is natural – an Israeli blue-and-white company flying the Israeli delegation to the games in Paris to represent paralympic sport and the entire nation of Israel. Our wish to see the Israeli flag flying high and to hear Hatikvah playing is important today more than ever, and our athletes are committed to giving their all to bring you and the entire country moments of happiness, honor and pride.”
