Even ‘Friendly’ Media Sometimes Promote Radical Left Anti-Israel Propaganda

First of all, a hearty yasher kochachem to Moshe, Mendy and the staff on your outstanding coverage of the massive rally on the Washington Mall, on November 14. The rally brought close to 300,000 participants together to demonstrate support for Israel in the Gaza war and against Jew-hatred in America and across the world. It was one of the largest rallies in Washington history and was completely peaceful and orderly. It was well covered by most TV media.

However, the very next night, a small gang of about 200 rowdy pro-Palestinian demonstraters had a counter-demonstration outside a Democratic Party conference, which turned, certainly by design, into a violent confrontation with police. This brawl by only a relative handful of hooligans received almost as much news coverage, even in the “friendly” media, as did the massive, orderly pro-Israel rally. Even worse, with the round-the-clock media cycles, the small, violent counter-demonstration was still getting coverage two days later, while the peaceful rally of 200,000 was already ignored. How is that for “proportionality”?

Of course this is exactly what the Palestinians count on, knowing that violence makes for much bigger headlines than peaceful behavior, and once the pro-Palestinian ruffians get everyone’s attention, they deliver their messages of hate. The media are only too anxious to go along with it. After all, sentiments are fine, but business is business.

This also brings to mind the Wall Street Journal, which is considered the epitome of unbiased newspapers, yet still only refers to the Hamas savages as “militia,” never as terrorists, even though the United States and other nations officially classify them as such. Also remember when the WSJ pounced prematurely on the IDF-supposed bombing of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital “causing 500 civilian deaths” based solely on Hamas reports, before the facts actually showed that most of the claims were pure fabrications. Again, more violent acts make for bigger headlines, the more violent the better for business.

It is a shame that pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel Jew-haters know how to manipulate the mainstream media much better than we do. And we Jews like to boast about how smart we are. Sorry, not always.
