Faith, Family, Freedom: A Marine’s Pledge to the People of District 37

My name is Marco D. Navarro, and I am running for the New Jersey State Assembly in District 37. I am a proud husband and father of four, a Marine Corps veteran, an emergency medical technician (EMT) in one of our state’s busiest 911 systems, and currently serve on the local board of education. My life has been defined by service — to country, to community, and now to the people of New Jersey.

The recent news about the return of Edan Alexander, a young Jewish man from our district taken hostage by Hamas, is a moment of great relief. I continue to pray for all hostages still held by Hamas and for the safe return of every innocent life. Edan’s story is a reminder of the human toll of terrorism and the deep responsibility we have to stand up for those who are targeted because of their faith or identity.

If elected, I will be a strong and unapologetic ally in the fight against antisemitism. That includes supporting legislation like New Jersey’s adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, a necessary step in addressing the modern realities of hate — including anti-Zionism, which is antisemitism. Denying the Jewish people their right to a homeland is no different than denying them their right to exist safely and freely.

I also stand with President Trump in his call to end the violent, antisemitic protests that have erupted across our college campuses and streets. We cannot allow any ideology — no matter how it is branded — to become a cover for bigotry, intimidation or glorification of terror. These protests have crossed the line into hatred, and they must be stopped.

As a board of education member, I’ve seen firsthand the fears expressed by Jewish families and the concerns many students face simply for identifying as Jewish. I will work to ensure that all students — from kindergarten to college — feel safe, supported and protected in every school across New Jersey.

Far too often, elected officials say “hate has no home here,” but when antisemitism rears its head, they say nothing. I will not be silent. I will stand firm, side-by-side with the Jewish community to confront antisemitism wherever it appears and ensure that New Jersey never turns a blind eye to hate.

While this letter is directed to our great Jewish community, I want to make it unequivocally clear: I support and respect all religions, ethnicities, skin colors, and backgrounds. I believe every person — regardless of their faith — deserves to live in peace, with dignity, and without fear. Hate against any group, whether it be Jews, Muslims, Christians, or anyone else, is unacceptable and must be condemned. We must strive for a society where coexistence, mutual respect and freedom of belief are not only protected, but celebrated.

In addition to fighting antisemitism and standing for religious liberty, my campaign is rooted in addressing the real issues affecting working families in District 37. These are the five key priorities I will fight for in Trenton:

  1. Strengthening public safety and supporting first responders: Ensuring our police, EMS and 911 systems are fully staffed, respected and capable of protecting every neighborhood.
  2. Fixing New Jersey’s broken education system: Demanding accountability from districts that receive massive state aid but fail our children. I support school choice, parental rights and transparency in curriculum.
  3. Ending political corruption and machine control: Advocating for term limits, greater transparency and dismantling the entrenched political machines that have hijacked local government.
  4. Expanding affordable housing access fairly: Ensuring housing is built for working families based on real needs and advocating to transition from affordable housing to affordable home ownership.
  5. Protecting religious freedom and combating all forms of hate: Supporting the IHRA definition, securing religious communities, and defending every individual’s right to live without fear of harassment or discrimination.

I always say, there are two types of individuals who hold public office, politicians and public servants. Politicians are in it for themselves, public servants are in it for the people. Mr./Ms. Editor, I am a Public Servant! If given the honor to serve in the State Assembly, I will bring a voice of moral clarity, common sense and unshakable commitment to the people — not political insiders. District 37 deserves a representative who will speak the truth and fight for everyone’s safety, dignity and freedom.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my vision. I would be honored to earn your trust, your endorsement and your vote.
