Teaneck Artist Extends Chesed to Feed the Hungry

Well-known local artist Miriam Stern of Teaneck, devastated by the overwhelming economic effects of the coronavirus, has decided to feed the hungry in the manner that best suits her great talent. From June 7-14, an art sale featuring Stern’s works will be on display at https://MiriamStern.net/Art-to-Feed-the-Hungry.html. All proceeds from the sale will go to feeding the hungry.

Stern said, “With news about the unemployment rate rising daily and more and more people finding it difficult to put food on the table,” her way of giving back is through her greatest passion—her art. During the art sale, people can visit the site to choose an original, signed, one-of-a-kind monoprint created by Stern. Each art piece is being sold for $200 and all are 100% tax deductible. Buyers will be able to choose from four charities whose focus is feeding the hungry, and donations will be made directly to the individual charity.

The four choices are Leket Israel, Mazon, Tomchei Shabbos of Bergen County, and Center for Food Action, Englewood.

In today’s environment, where many who are able are anxious to do as much chesed as possible to help the less fortunate, this is a win-win situation. One gets to choose an amazing piece of art that will enhance the beauty of their home with the knowledge that they are staving off the pangs of hunger for others.
