I Need Help Falling Asleep

Dear Shayna,

Every night I have a very hard time falling asleep. In the morning I am exhausted and I find it impossible to get up and get ready for school. I’ve tried counting sheep. It hasn’t worked. Any ideas?

Dear Sleepless Sarie,

I used to have trouble falling asleep too, but now I fall asleep with ease. Here are some of things I’ve tried that have helped me:

Read until you’re so sleepy you can hardly keep your eyes open.

Take a warm bubble bath.

Download a mindfulness app.

Tell yourself something happy before you go to sleep.

Don’t give up! If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

All you have to do is believe you can and you can. It’s not that hard to sleep. Just let your thoughts flow, whether they are good or bad, because they’ll pass and before you know it you’ll be sleeping like a baby.
