Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

You and I will never see eye to eye

And I refuse to believe that

We can fix the world around us

I know one thing for certain

That all we really need is love

Is a falsity

My truth is all that matters

And our grandchildren will learn

Speaking

Is more valuable than

Listening

So, I want you to know

There was a time when I could say this with certainty

That one’s political views defines you as a whole

No longer can we say

Being “Right” or “Left” hasn’t divided us

Our children will grow up in a world where

In the future

Social media insults and slander will be the norm

It will no longer be said that

Different faiths, races and opinions can co-exist and thrive

Society has been cracked open, shattered and jagged

It is misguided to believe that

There can be healing and hope

This is a reverse poem. Please read the poem again from the bottom up, starting from the beginning of each sentence.
