Fialkoff’s Kosher Pizza, the new eatery in Livingston taking over the former Jerusalem Pizza location on Mount Pleasant Avenue, opened its doors last week and owner Ephraim Rosenstock could not be happier. With renovations completed last month and the parking lot newly paved, there is a lot for patrons to get excited about.

With warmth and enthusiasm, Rosenstock explained: “There is a big menu with more than 40 items. We’re really putting our heart and soul into creating something for everyone. We want to be inclusive, helping everyone get a nice meal and a nice experience.”

Rosenstock worked for Fialkoff’s for many years before he was offered the Livingston location. “Pizza will be a hit in this higher-end pizza shop. I want people to enjoy,” he shared. There are many toppings to choose from and, of course, patrons can expect Fialkoff’s signature semi-spicy sauce, as well as other family-friendly varieties.

There is seating for 70, with large tables for groups of eight to nine, and smaller tables for two to four people.

Thanks to major renovations to the original space, there are bright, beautiful new contemporary-styled counters, tiled floors and LED lighting. Black-and-white tile, maple-colored butcher block tables and tan paneling give a bright, airy and relaxed atmosphere. “It’s a big facelift,” Rosenstock said.

He is very excited about the new venture, and the location. “Livingston has a small-town vibe, and a great Jewish community. Coming from Monticello I feel it’s the same very nice environment,” he said.

All dishes are freshly prepared to order, with whole wheat and gluten-free items available daily. French fries, garlic knots, paninis, wraps, pasta, falafel, soups and calzones are part of the standard menu, which also includes salads and sandwiches. Sushi and poke bowls are made to order. A beautiful self-service coffee bar is in the front of the store near the ordering kiosks. Self-serve ice cream will be available soon. Milkshakes are planned for this summer.

Upon first entering, diners use a Toast system kiosk to order. On two screens on the wall, the status of the order is listed and texts are sent. This creates a streamlined process. An in-person cashier is still present at the register for those who need assistance.

All items, plus more, are available for catering and listed on the kiosks. Online ordering and delivery is available on the website at fialkoffskosherpizza.com.

Outdoor seating is planned this summer, and a sukkah in the fall.
