The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Temimah Schulhof as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The ten-year-old, RYNJ fifth grader plays right wing for the NJ Rhinos squirt travel team. Temimah proudly wears number 36 (double chai), and is the only girl on the all-boys team. When asked about her daughter playing on an all-boys team, Yael Schulhof told the JLNJ, “It’s a sport that she loves and is not intimidated by anyone, regardless of gender.”
Temimah, I am beyond impressed with your determination, you must have some tremendous role models, who would you say is your number one role model?
I would have to say my grandmother. She’s selfless, always making sure that everyone around her is happy and feels important. She’s my biggest fan!!
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
My favorite athlete is Rick Nash from the Rangers (my favorite team of course!). He’s just an amazing and cool ice hockey player
What is your earliest sport memory?
Figure skating with my coach when I was three years old.
What is your funniest sports memory?
Once I went on to the ice with my skates and I kept on falling till my coach pointed out to me that my skate guards were still on!
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
Singing, piano, gymnastics and just hanging out with my friends and having blast.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
Always running around and looking forward to my next games.
