He’Atid Marks Milestones

Students at Yeshivat He’Atid have recently marked two powerful educational milestones that reflect both academic depth and personal growth.

In fifth grade, students completed a moving unit on the Righteous Among the Nations—non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. The project began with a class reading of Number the Stars by Lois Lowry and culminated in student-created exhibits honoring real-life heroes recognized by Yad Vashem. Their presentations, which included diary entries, letters, videos and more, were shared with parents and fourth graders and reflected a deep understanding of moral courage and historical empathy.

Meanwhile, third graders celebrated their completion of the Shemoneh Esrei prayer with a Mesibat Shemoneh Esrei—a special breakfast celebration marking their dedication and learning. Throughout the year, they’ve explored the meaning and structure of this central tefillah. The event featured words of inspiration from Morah Sarit and ended with hot cocoa and doughnuts to mark the joyous occasion.

Both events showcased the students’ engagement with Jewish learning and their growing ability to connect deeply with history, prayer and values.
