This week, Heichal Juniors enjoyed a grade trip to Washington, D.C., taking in some of the incredible sights of the nation’s capital. The Talmidim departed after Shacharis, with their first stop at the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum, research and education complex. From there, they enjoyed a two-hour personalized Segway tour through downtown Washington, offering panoramic views and a fun, engaging way to explore the city.
After the tour, the boys had the opportunity to visit various museums and war memorials surrounding the National Mall based on their individual interests. During these visits, the talmidim participated in an exciting scavenger hunt, making the experience even more interactive and immersive.
Later that afternoon, they made their way to Camden Yards for the Orioles—Red Sox game. The boys davened Mincha together and enjoyed dinner at the stadium—a fun, high-energy bonding experience. The evening concluded with an inspiring farbrengen led by Heichal Mashgiach, Rav Daniel Schwechter at the hotel in Silver Spring.
Day two began with Schacharis and a beautiful breakfast, followed by a visit to Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s office, where staff members led a meaningful Q&A session about civic engagement and leadership. After this enlightening experience, the group toured the US Capitol—the seat of the United States Congress—before heading to the United States Holocaust Museum for a powerful and moving afternoon. The trip concluded with a heartfelt talk from Rav Schwechter, offering reflection and inspiration to cap off a truly impactful two days. It was a memorable, enjoyable and educational experience for the eleventh grade students at Heichal.
