Heichal juniors enjoyed a grade trip to Washington, D.C. this week, taking in some of the great sights in the nation’s capital. The talmidim left after Shacharis, first stopping at the newly opened Lincoln Memorial. After taking in panoramic views of the area, the boys had the opportunity to visit the museums and war memorials surrounding the Washington Mall that interested them most. That afternoon, after meeting at Rose Park for Mincha and dinner from Char Bar, the boys took two-hour personalized Segway tours of the whole downtown area. The night was topped off with an evening farbrengen with Rabbi Schwechter at the hotel in MacLean, Virginia. Day two began with davening at the Chabad of Tysons in Virginia, followed by shiurim, a trip to the National Zoo and a meaningful and powerful visit to the Holocaust Museum. The final stop was a meeting with staff members of Representative Josh Gottheimer’s office near the Capitol, where they shared with the students details about the experience of working in Congress. It was a powerful, inspirational and educational experience for the students at Heichal.
