Talmidim at Heichal HaTorah had a successful month raising money among their teachers, rebbeim, friends and classmates to support Keren Hashviis 5782, an organization that supports farmers who keep the sacred mitzvah of shemitah in Eretz Yisroel. The various aspects of shemitah were discussed in shiur, at which point the boys decided to invest their time and energy into this beautiful mitzvah and support these heroes. These shemitah observant farmers show great mesiras nefesh, allowing their fields and gardens to remain fallow in order to fulfill the mitzvah. Only a fraction of their income is earned as these farmers demonstrate tremendous faith and commitment to observing this mitzvah. The talmidim were thrilled to be able to participate and support such an incredible cause.
