How Goal Setting Helped These Clients

In my previous article, I shared how I’ve used what I learned about goal setting to help many of my clients make major transformations in their professional and personal lives. People like Barry, Yoni and AY. Here are their stories:

Barry

Barry, an HR professional, has been in my business mastermind group for two years. Back in the summer, I pitched him the idea of starting his own group for other HR professionals, which he loved.

But as with most exciting new initiatives, this one came with lots of questions (how exactly should I go about this?) and self-doubt (am I able to do this and will others want to join?).

Barry set a goal of starting a group with eight HR professionals of medium-large companies organizations by September.

With my coaching and the group’s support, he hit his goal (though a bit later than he had originally hoped) and is reaping both the financial rewards as well as the satisfaction that he had set an ambitious goal and took the steps necessary to achieve it, not to mention the positive impact he’s having on these professionals and their companies/organizations.

Here is the feedback that he recently shared with us: “I wanted to share with the group that earlier today, this afternoon, I had my first mastermind group. Thank you again, Naphtali, for planting the seed and the encouragement. And thank you to everyone in the group for the encouragement. Really, really appreciate it.”

Yoni

Yoni owns multiple businesses. A former mastermind group member (he was with me for two years as well), Yoni joined the group hoping to scale his e-translation business for legal documents written in foreign languages.

During his time in the group, Yoni set multiple sales goals, including hiring a sales manager and increasing the size of his sales team. We also performed some exercises, such as how to identify and target your ideal customer, that helped his sales team become more focused and successful.

With effort, Yoni hit his goals and experienced significant growth to the company’s sales and bottom line.

This is what he later shared with us: “I can’t begin to express the thankfulness I have for all I have learned and grown because of the powerful lessons from Naphtali and this group. This recent exercise (identifying your client avatar) helped me narrow down and focus. I plan on doing this exercise with my sales team to make sure they have it as narrowed down as possible. Thank you for this.”

AY

AY founded a large nonprofit dedicated to supporting kids at risk. He runs programs throughout the year, including two one-week intensive summer programs.

AY came to me feeling anxious and overwhelmed, feeling that his support staff was not properly alleviating his burden so that he could focus on what he does best, fundraising and macro level program development.

I guided AY to coach up his team by spending more time directing them rather than dumping tasks on them. We set goals around that, such as scheduling 1:1 meetings and providing training, and the results were quick and significant.

In AY’s words: “Working with Naphtali has been a transformative experience for my professional growth. Through his guidance, I have gained remarkable clarity on my organization’s goals and have become more strategic in executing our key objectives. Learning to delegate effectively has allowed me to focus more on tasks that truly demand my unique skill set, enabling me to make a significant impact on the most crucial aspects of our organization.”

Do you want to experience similar successes to Barry, Yoni and AY? I’ll let you know how I can help you get there in my next article.
