Last week, Hillel Fuld delivered a personalized kippah to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. The kippah was crafted by Marsha Motzen, an Englewood resident. Below is the written exchange between Motzen and Huckabee:
Dear Ambassador Huckabee,
Welcome to Israel! The news footage of you praying at the Western Wall moved me to tears. So much so, that I was inspired to coax my crochet hook out of retirement to create this personalized kippah for you. I hope you will have an occasion to wear it, either on a return visit to the Western Wall, or if your duties take you to a synagogue.
I truly believe, like the Biblical Queen Esther, that God has put you in your position at this time because of your steadfast commitment to the peace of Jerusalem. I have many, many American friends who now make their home here who are thrilled with your appointment.
May your tenure here be enjoyable and memorable, and may God shower his abundant blessings on you and your family for your unwavering support of Israel and the Jewish people.
Respectfully,
Marsha Motzen

Today, Hillel Fuld came to my office at the embassy and presented me with the absolutely beautiful kippa with my name! It’s not only a perfectly fitting kippa, but the handiwork that went into it is a true gift of kindness!
Thank you so very much, Marsha — I will wear it when I visit the Kotel or participate in ceremonies where I want to demonstrate my profound respect for my Jewish friends.
So very kind of you! I hope to meet you sometime and thank you in person.
