Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

In support of Rabbi Moshe Taragin’s article in the September 5 issue, “Is God Our Mother?,” it seems, perhaps especially at this time of year, important for us to reflect on the deeper meanings of what we say. With hope and yearning, we turn to Av HaRachamim. And the root of the word “rachamim” is “rechem,” womb. So there is a wonderful if not mainstream translation of this phrase as “Father of motherly mercies.” Indeed.
