The JEC Lower School had an unforgettable day celebrating Israel’s 77th birthday! The all-day Yom Ha’Atzmaut program began with a meaningful tekes that included Hallel, tefillot for Israel and special video messages from former rishonim Eyal and Noam.
Students then embarked across Israel! They worked hard in a basic training obstacle course. At Ein Gedi, they participated in a fun and engaging bucket brigade activity. In Yam HaMelach, they created stunning sand art projects, while in Tel Aviv, they built impressive replicas of iconic landmarks using recyclable materials. In Tzfat, they designed and decorated festive Yom Ha’Atzmaut t-shirts.
At the shuk, students crafted beaded bracelets and enjoyed a variety of delicious Israeli snacks. On the kibbutz, they loved interacting with animals on the farm at a petting zoo. The celebration continued with soccer games, tasty blue-and-white cookies and a delicious Israeli lunch.
It was truly a day filled with learning, creativity and joy as JEC honored Israel’s incredible 77 years. A huge thank you to Morah Kayla, Ayelet and all those who helped make this day so incredible.
