Last Wednesday the eleventh and twelfth grade advanced STEM students were treated to a unique form of hands-on learning. Making the trip to MakerDepot, they were shown an entire new perspective on advanced tools and fabrication technology. The students toured the metal fabrication shop and experimented with lathes and welders. They also saw a massive wood shop and experienced the power of these tools on a grand scale. Each student left with a creation of their own making.
JEC hopes to partner with MakerDepot in the future to allow students access to this amazing shop all year round. It was a great opportunity for the students to enjoy an afternoon focused on technology and manufacturing.
