(Courtesy of Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey) On June 8, Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern NJ (JFCS) will be hosting its 15th Annual Ride to Fight Hunger. The event will be held in Rockleigh, New Jersey and include bike routes (50, 25, 10, and 3 miles), a guided hike, games and entertainment for the kids, and food and drinks provided throughout the day. It is a fun-filled time for the whole family as well as a vital fundraising event for JFCS.
Why do we ride?
It’s for the 11-year-old girl struggling with debilitating stress and anxiety.
It’s for the 79-year-old man who desperately needs help performing the most basic of functions (like making breakfast and taking out the trash).
It’s for the mother with two young children who comes to our Corner Market, crying in thanks for the food provided to her family.
It’s for the out-of-work father who is desperate for a way to support his family.
So, we ask again: Why ride? The answer is simple. There are thousands of people in the community who need help, and JFCS simply helps. The money raised during the Ride to Fight Hunger is integral to JFCS’s ability to be a lifeline to all who suffer from life’s many challenges.
By lending your support, you can make an enormous difference in the lives of the mothers, fathers and children of northern New Jersey.
