(Courtesy of JFNNJ) Local leaders Suzette Diamond, Robin Epstein and Dina Bassen joined Jewish Federation CEO Jason M. Shames and a delegation from across the country to accompany 209 Ethiopian Jews making aliyah on their celebratory flight to Israel. The group learned about Ethiopian Jewry, experienced a prayer service with the olim, visited a synagogue and cemetery in Gondar, Ethiopia, and ultimately, completed their journey home to Israel. They were welcomed with song, dance, cheer and hopes for a bright future.
