JFS MetroWest Delivers Passover Packages and Meals To Homebound Older Adults and Holocaust Survivors

(Courtesy of JFS) Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ (JFS) proudly delivered Passover packages and meals to homebound older adults and Holocaust survivors throughout Essex, Morris and Northern Union counties. With the support of their dedicated volunteers, deliveries took place on Friday, April 11, ensuring that members of the community could celebrate Passover with the traditional foods and essential items they needed.

JFS distributed 105 holiday packages, generously donated by the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. These packages included cleaning supplies, macaroons, potato starch, a matzah ball soup kit, tuna fish, grape juice and matzah squares. Additionally, 150 holiday meals were provided through the generosity of a private donor. These meals featured traditional Passover dishes, including brisket with gravy, health salad, tzimmes, broccoli and macaroons.

Social services for Jewish Nazi victims have been supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. Holocaust services are made possible by a grant from the JFNA Center on Holocaust Survivor Care and Institute on Aging and Trauma, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ, KAVOD SHEF in partnership with Seed the Dream Foundation, the Sephardic Foundation on Aging, the State of New Jersey, the Wilf Family Foundation, and other generous donors.
