JKHA Celebrates Yom Ha’atzmaut

Early childhood and lower school began their day on Yom Ha’atzmaut joining together with fellow Greater MetroWest day schools to sing the Hatikvah in unison via video conference. The day continued with the divisions experiencing a day in the life of an Israeli. After “boarding” their El Al plane, they visited the Negev, joined Maccabi Tel Aviv for Israeli sports and games, answered trivia questions about Israel and enjoyed a spiritual experience in Yerushalayim where they made artistic renderings of the Kotel and Israeli lanterns to display at school.

Middle School filled the school’s atrium with ruach as they celebrated Israel with a chagiga, complete with festive singing and dancing. The students then had their time to shine on stage for the Kochavei Kushner talent competition. Students could not contain their excitement when the Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration was capped off with the breakout of color war! Israeli sports activities kicked off the color war competition for teams kachol and lavan.
