The JKHA middle school Debate Team headed out to YCQ to compete in a debate against HALB and YCQ. The question up for debate was whether “America should tax soft drinks, chips, soda and fast food.” JKHA had two teams of two that argued against and two teams of two that argued for the initiative. The whole team masterfully debated both sides of this topic against their opponents. A special congratulations to Sophia Steiner who received first place speaker overall, Sophie Diamond who received third place speaker overall and the pair of Zachy Maron and Sophie Diamond who won best overall debate team.
